I hope recovery continues to go well! My comfort middle grade novel is the Protector of the Small quartet by Tamara Pierce. I may not love everything about her social agenda, but I adore Keladry as hero, and the medieval Harry Potter school vibes to it
Hope you can get lots of rest and recover soon. The book looks wonderful.
Something that really helped our family: our golden retriever would take us on walks often in unplanned directions, so a trainer advised a gentle leader. No more pulling arms out of shoulder sockets in pursuit of some mysterious scent. It looks like a muzzle, but it's does not restrict the dog's mouth. Even the children could walk the dog.
Hope you feel better soon, Haley! If you’re looking for TV series to binge watch while recovering, I highly recommend Touched By An Angel, Joan of Arcadia, Murder She Wrote, and Stranger Things!
The Wednesday Wars is a personal favorite. I highly recommend Okay for Now by Gary D. Schmidt, too, if you haven’t already read it.

Paul Contino was my professor at Pepperdine! 🙌🙌🙌 I will read anything he has to say! This collection looks incredible!
Also, glad to hear you are recovering alright! ❤️

Hope you feel better very soon. I'd dearly love to see a picture of your "My Fair Lady" sweatshirt sometime. :-) And the book looks great!
