Hello to new subscribers and welcome all!
It’s been a full month since my last miscellany post and I’ve been procrastinating on getting this post out to you because I feel like there is simply too much in my head that I want to share!
(Psst! For those who are simply here to order signed copies of my books as Christmas gifts, you can find the order form here or scroll down for more info.)
Thanksgiving came and went at the Stewart household and it was honestly lovely. Last year I was dreading the holidays with every cell in my body. (If you recall, we went out of town for Thanksgiving and ate at Waffle House and I ran away to Spain on Christmas Day.)
This year, I wasn’t dreading Thanksgiving at all. The kids wanted to get a tree early so we did that on Wednesday, the kids and I cooked at home on Thursday and feasted. The teens watched the new season of Stranger Things with me. And it was just an all around fantastic day. We’ll see how I feel about Christmas as it gets closer. But I’m hopeful it will be an improvement on last year.
It’s been a season with some extra stress, so I channeled some of it into deep cleaning my home office which, I must say, is now a JOY to exist in.
I am so grateful for this room.
And so is Samwise.
In other household news, our oven and our dishwasher were declared dead the same week.
This is the replacement oven which is working beautifully, but having two major appliances die simultaneously was not something I budgeted for. Which leads me to….
Orders for signed copies of my books are now open!
I have several copies of each of my books at my house and ready to ship, but I will likely need to make an order tomorrow for more copies from my publishers. So if you would like a signed copy inscribed to anyone you’d like as a gift (or for yourself!) go ahead and order ASAP. I’ll be starting the process of shipping this week and completing shipments next week!
I can ship The Catholic Kids’ Cookbook, any of the Sister Seraphina Mysteries (mouse nuns!), Women of the Catholic Imagination, The Grace of Enough, and/or Jane Austen’s Genius Guide to Life.
Ordering directly from me is significantly more financially advantageous for my family than ordering from Amazon and you get your copy signed to boot!
And speaking of my books, today is St. Andrew’s Day and so don’t forget to make your fisherman’s breakfast from my Catholic Kids’ Cookbook (one of the titles available to be signed and shipped to you!)
Hope you have a wonderful first week of Advent!

Haley, I would like to order a signed copy of Women of the Catholic Imagination for one of my sisters in law, but my next paycheck doesn’t arrive in my bank account until Wednesday, and all I have is a debit card. If I place the order on Wednesday night, can I still get a signed copy? It does not have to arrive at my address before Christmas Eve. My sister in law is expecting baby number one in February 2026, and I plan on giving it to her as a “new mom” gift for her.
Oh I wishe you shipped overseas!. Never mind, have a wonderful Christmas.
